Day Three FIGHT ON FOR USC

We had a great day, minus the severe sunburn, minor heat stroke and a strong sense of uneasiness during the 4th quarter. But my USC Football Trojan pulled out a win, and that is what matters.

Adam and I have a ton of traditions when it comes to these games. We have been going together for the better part of 10 years or more. We park in the same place, do the same walk, watch the band, watch the boys arrive, etc. These traditions have created some of my most favorite memories. But because of our commitment to No Spend September, we had committed to making some changes yesterday. Where we usually park costs $25. We didn't want to pay these fee, so we left way early so we could drive around and look for a free parking spot. But when we got there, we quickly realized that this was more of a lofty idea than a reality. It was just way too crowded, so in lieu of driving around and around for the afternoon looking for a spot, we paid the $25 and accepted it. We had previously discussed the fact that this might be a reality, so we were ok with it.

The game was SO AMAZING HOT. Like I can't even begin to explain it. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I didn't like the heat there and I haven't grown to like it any more since I live in So Cal.....AT ALL. But we were baking in the sun. No wind. No cross breeze. You see, it was so hot that when the Goodyear Blimp flew over and created a 2 second spot of shade, the crowd cheered. The coliseum doesn't allow you to bring anything in to the venue. So I had no choice but to purchase some drinks. We spend $15 on water, ice and soda to ensure that we kept out hearts beating. I think I would have spent $1000, it was that hot. It was OMG HOT. We both were really drained and left at the beginning of the 4th quarter. In all our years of going to Trojan football games, I think we have left early only a handful of times. We didn't regret our decision as we made it out before the crowd and got home in time to watch more football. Today I am suffering from a sore neck and shoulders from the 3rd degree sunburn that I got, a hourse throat from the screaming and a happy heart with a victory for my Trojans. Our pocketbook it $40 less, but a significant decrease from out usual Saturday football day. So I would say that is a huge success.

I would also say FIGHT ON!!!

You inspire me....going to a football game and only spending 40. You rock. Stay focused...I know we can do this.
